The giants of Mont’e Prama are mysterious sculptures that exceed 2 meters in height and were created by the Nuragic civilization of Sardinia, Italy These giants are believed to have been replicas of extraterrestrial robots from thousands of years ago.
The Nuragic civilization inhabited the Island of Sardinia between the 18th and 2nd centuries BC. Among its greatest mysteries, the giants of Mont’e Prama stand out, These sculptures most likely represent something beyond our comprehension.
The Nuragic civilization and the giants of Mont’e Prama
Experts still do not know if the Nuraágicos were originally from the Island or if they are related to the Sea Peoples, who devastated the shores of the Mediterranean Sea between the fourteenth and thirteenth centuries BC.
If the latter was the correct case, they would have reached Sardinia after being defeated during their failed invasion of Egypt in the 13th and12th centuries BC.
The giants of Mont’e Prama, or the “colossi”, as they have been nicknamed by some researchers, were found in 1974, very close to Cabras, in the west.
They are the representation of warriors, archers, and fighters with shields. Its most striking feature is, without a doubt, its enormous size, together with the eyes formed by concentric discs.
Experts do not know if these statues represent mythological heroes or gods. This has also led to many alternative theories being born. One of the best known is that they are replicas of extraterrestrial robots, due to their strange clothes and shapes.
Its discovery took place next to a tomb of the same time, it is believed, they were placed around the tomb as guardians.
But this is not a matter that is entirely clear since they very easily could have belonged to a nearby undiscovered temple.
In March 2015, 40 years after their discovery and restoration, the giants of Mont’e Prama were exhibited to the public at the National Archaeological Museum of Cagliari and the Museum of Cabras.
In total, with more than five thousand pieces found, 33 giants could be rebuilt. Later, 2 new pieces were found in September 2016. Curiously, these statues were totally intact.
The last monument may be buried deep, according to radar analysis.
The novelty that these last two discovered Giants bring is that, unlike those found previously, they wear their shields glued to the side and not on the head.
In addition, it has a posture very similar to that of a Nuragic bronze statuette of the time, which was found in Viterbo. This statue certainly dates from the 9th century BC
If the connection were to be demonstrated, we would be looking at the oldest example of colossi found in the Mediterranean, several centuries prior to the Greek colossi.
Even more intriguing is that, according to various experts, these colossi wore masks similar to those currently used in Sardinian celebrations.
Although it is believed that these are not exactly the same, this would show that some ancient rites and traditions have survived on the island for more than 3,000 years.
What really are the giants of Mont’e Prama? Heroes, gods, or extraterrestrial robots? Why hasn’t science been able to find true answers? Or is it that there simply aren’t any on this planet?
